The process for getting an insurance policy can vary depending on the type of insurance and the carrier. In general, the process typically involves the following steps:
First, we determine what type of insurance you need: This may be auto insurance, home insurance, life insurance, etc.
Next, we research different insurance companies and compare policies: Look for a Carrier that offers the coverage you need at a price you can afford and at a price that will not increase every policy renewal. Furthermore, we consider some other factors on your behalf, such as the company's financial stability, customer service record, claim process turnaround time, and any discounts they offer.
If all looks good, we get a quote for you from different Insurance Companies: Contact insurance companies or brokers to get quotes for the coverage you need. We make sure accurate information about your and any property or vehicles you want to insure is perfectly correct.
Next, we review and compare quotes: Carefully review the quotes we received and compare them to determine which policy is the best fit for you.
If you are okay with the quote, then we apply for the coverage and complete the application by making payments. Please note without payment policy will not be bound (no contract).
Review and sign policy: We will carefully review your policy with you either face to face, virtual, or over the phone, to make sure you understand the terms and conditions of your coverage. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask for more clarification. Once you are satisfied with your policy, you will need to sign it and make payments to accept the coverage.
Insurance cost depends on what you want to insurance, the higher the risk or peril the more the cost. However, many insurance policies can be customized to meet your specific needs and preferences. For example, you may be able to add or remove certain coverage options, increase or decrease the limits of your policy, exclude a member of the household or add additional insured parties, or your zip-code, these factors determines insurance cost.
Customizing your policy will depend on the type of insurance you have and the insurance company. Some insurance companies offer a wide range of options that you can mix and match to create a policy that is tailored to your needs. Others may have more limited options available.
If you are interested in customizing your policy, you can speak to us to guide you through it. We will be able to provide you with information about the options/changes that are available and help you determine which changes are right for you.
Please note: good insurance coverage is not cheap, it is in grades just like the gas pump, "regular", "Mid-grade", and "Premium".
If you need to file a claim, the first step is to contact your insurance company to inform them of the situation. You can do this by phone, online, or through their mobile app (which we recommend, in case you need to send picture or video footage of the accident).
Gather necessary documentation: Depending on the type of claim you are filing; you may need to provide certain documentation to support your claim. This could include police reports, repair estimates, medical bills, or other documentation.
Submit your claim: Once you have gathered the necessary documentation, you will need to submit your claim to your insurance company. This can usually be done online, by phone, or by mail.
Wait for a response: Once you have submitted your claim, your insurance company will review the information you provided and make a determination about your coverage. This process can take some time, so be patient.
Follow up as needed: If you have any questions about the status of your claim or need to provide additional information, be sure to follow up with your insurance company or with us (Sodje Agency).
